Voter ID card verification and correction is now very easy : On September 1, the Electoral Commission’s new mega voter verification program for updating the electoral rolls through crowdsourcing was launched across the country.
Under this program, every family voter also gets a username and password. This allows users to tag and upload all their family members’ records related to the election register.
“Mega Million” is also released in all states and Union Territories. This will be done by all 36 CEOs at the headquarters level of the state, all 740 district electoral officers and BLOs and electoral registers at the district headquarters, the Election Commission said.
How long will the EVP last?
The EVP will be released in Delhi at around 14,000 different locations. The event will take place in Campaign Mode from September 1 to October 15.
What is the purpose of EVP?
The main objective of the program is to improve the health of the electoral rolls and to increase the enrollment of all eligible citizens by making a special summary revision of the voter list.
Sharing one-time authentication details and contact details will allow voters to receive updates on online application status, EPIC status, election date notification, registered email, voter slip and mobile number. Voter information such as serial numbers, polling station details, BLO / ERO changes, polling center information is shared with voters.
When will the list be released?
First a summary draft will be published. The estimate is expected to be published by January 1,2020. The final release will be carried out in the first or second week of January.
What amenities are available?
Voters will have the opportunity to avail the following facilities.
• Present details may be reviewed and corrected.
• Authentication of entry is possible by copying one of the following documents:
(i) Indian Passport
(ii) Driving License
(iii) Aadhaar Card
(iv) Ration Card
(v) Identity Card for Government or Semi Government Officers
(vi) Bank Passbook
(vii) Farmer’s Identity Card
(viii) PAN Card
(ix) Smart Card issued by RGI
(x) Latest Bill of Water / Electricity / Telephone / Gas Connection
• Be able to provide and verify details of family members.
• Assistance in updating details of deceased or permanently distant family members.
• Adding eligible family members who were born on or before 01.01.2001 to the voter list and voter or family members living with you from 02.01.2002 to 01.01.2003 ie prospective voters.
• Providing GIS coordinates at home (via Mobile App) for better election service.
• Get advice and advice on current polling stations and alternative PS.
Is it possible to do it online?
Yes, you can login to the NVSP portal (nvsp.in) or the Voter Helpline App. You can enter your name, family details and address. Fill out the application form on this site. This is an auto generated application ie an auto generated form.
Form 6 and 7 can be filled in to add and delete names. Alerts will be sent to fill out the form to 18-year-olds.
What should be done if offline?
You can visit the general service centers or walk to any nearest voter facility. There are about seven to eight general service centers in each assembly area. More information is available on the NVSP web site.
Does the fee have to be paid?
Each CSC will also have to pay a nominal fee. Fees are also displayed on each CSC.
What documents can be used as proof of address?
In addition to the seven documents already approved – Passport, Driving License, Aadhaar, Ration Card, Identity Card, Bank Pass Book, Farmers Identity Card can be used for government or paramilitary authorities.In addition three more documents are used. These include PAN Card, Smart Card issued by RGI under NRP and Gas Connection Bill for New Water / Telephone / Address, all in the name of the applicant or parent or immediate contact of the Election Commission.
